On the blue ridge parkway

I run a small business, so I don't get to go away for long, two week vacations like most people. Instead, I take short road trips of no more than three days.

Update: I blew the engine in the BRZ, and it sat idle for many months. I am breaking in a new AIG racing engine, and hope to be updating more often!

Many things have happened, but I am still here and so is Big D and the BRZ. I don't get up in the mountains as often as I used to, but it remains my favorite place to be.

I like recreational driving. It is the perfect mix of solitude and engagement with the world. When you are inside your car, you are inside a controlled environment custom tailored to your preferences.

You are driving through the world, and when you see something or someone interesting, you can stop and interact. Then get back in your little microcosm and continue. I spend far more time in the car than out, while on these trips.

Heated leather seats, AC still works well, what more do you need? Automatic? Flappy Paddles? Ptuh!

Here are various things I have seen, from dash cams and cameras and phones and other devices. I don't expect many people to visit here, it is mostly for me to play with various web technologies. I hope to also play around with other means of trip documentation - gps tracking and plotting. So, this site might get updated frequently, or it may lie in unattended obscurity the way some of my other sites do. We will see.
